An embarrassing moment

Hi guys! You might think why the title is "an embarrassing moment"...this is because I wrote this composition  and wanted to share with you....hope you like it!

"Hey,Leah,do you want to take part in the dancing audition, this evening, for a movie,by this famous director? Sally asked. It was the June holidays. A famous director was filming a movie for the categories- acting, dancing and singing. Leah and Sally were best friends, who went to the same dance class. Of course! Let's go and seek permission from our parents." she replied.

Then, both of them left the playground  and seeked permission from their parents. For which, both their parents allowed. Since it was a Sunday, both their parents dropped them at the audition theatre. Then, their parents left. There, the girls greeted the director  and then the girls stood beside the other kids who were auditioning for the dance. After a few minutes, after everyone reached there, the director started off with the acting. He asked many questions to the group auditioning for acting, while Sally and Leah were waiting patiently for the next part, dancing.

As it was a movie which only children could audition, there were no adults except the director, three instructors and a few security guards. The clock ticked slowly. "Look more frightened and don't shake your legs too hard." The director  said patiently. All the other roles were already selected except for the main female role. Leah loved to act but there were no more slots available as only 30 children could audition for each category. While the director was about to select another girl , which he couldn't as there were no more girls, Leah screamed in fright, her eyes wide with horror. Leah saw a lizard at the corner of her eye. All the children there looked at her dumbfoundedly. They did not know why she was screaming her lungs out as they could not see the small lizard.

Leah looked at everyone as she was filled with embarrassment and did not know what to do. Her cheeks were flushed, with envy. Before she was about to cry, Sally comforted her. And when the director saw that, he got amazed, he asked Leah if she could act out the main female role. "Me?" Leah asked as she regained her composure, and was speechless. "Yes, you." The director said. "Sure!" Leah exclaimed. Leah was elated asan embarrassing moment turned into a very happy one as Sally and her were selected for the movie....

The end!

Books

Books are a storehouse of knowledge. Mostly everything than man has found in the earlier centuries has been enshrined in books. In other words, it is in books that the great minds of the past ages are kept safe for generations to come.

Many authors spend their precious time to write books and want others to learn too. Authors are forms of teachers as they cultivate the interest to read and mostly you learn many things in books and would want to read more.

You can always go to the library and read all sorts of books. Books are  our best friends. Even when our closest friends and nearest relatives may part company with us in time of adversity, books always stand by us through thick and thin. Books never betray us.

When the dark clouds of misery engullf us from all sides and when we feel helpless, we can always read books to slightly enlighten our moods. WE must always cultivate the habit of reading in ourselves and others too.
I really do not think the computers and e-books can replace normal books as computers and e-books may strain our eyes as we have to stare at the computer for a very long time as books are pretty long.

If you think normal books occupy lots of space, you can always go the library as the library is always open for you, and read there in your rest time and take it as a form of exercise to go to the library as many people think that going to the library is very long as the library is very far but now there is a library in every station, in Singapore.

I hope this article stores an important place in your mind.
THANK YOU!

Ambitions

A life without any ambition or goals is worthless. We must always have a target to hit and must strive towards it. For me, I want to become a teacher.

A teacher, because I want to shine a light on the poor and illiterate children. I know that I would have to have lots of patience and I know that I can develop it.

Even though, this would not be a source of earning, it will be truly a memorable experience, and a worship for me.At least, my life would not be as stressful but a form of joy and satisfaction. If everyone wants to earn a lot of money, then, who will teach the children who are faraway from learning, in other developing countries. We must shine a light and be a helping hand to them as we are one developed country.

I want to prepare and set an ambition for the illiterate and poor children. I always think that teaching is the noblest profession in the world as all the other professions are products of teaching.

I will study hard and strive to become a well-learned teacher, full of gratitude, and help in the development of the world.I am sure one day, I will fulfil my ambition.

Time for publishing!

Hi! Soon, I am going to try to publish my very own POEM book...well, I would like to share with you some poems which is kind of like a preview...

Family-
I love my family,
Which is a smilie,
Our relationship is never wobbly!
We always stay together,
Forever!
We seldom fight,
And we know it is not right...
So we forgive each other,
Which is not an error!
We have happiness and co-operation,
Oops! I almost forgot, consideration,
Is most important
And we should try to make them remain
Constant,
We help each other,
Almost forever!!!

Nature-
Butterflies, dragonflies, fireflies
Are all types of flies
Roses, lotuses, daisies
Are all types of flowers
Mango tree, apple tree,coconut tree
Are all types of trees
But these separate groups,
If combined together is,
Nature
Nature is a common thing,
But is formed only when separate groups are combined!
This can be applied in our lives too, when separate families are combined,
They form the world...
So let's stay united forever....
To make a bigger and a better
World!!!!

Colours-
Splash paint here and there,
 almost everywhere!
All of different colours and shades,
But if left too long, they might fade,
Every colour is unique,
And we can use it by using many techniques,
They make us smile,
Not just for a while,
They can be mixed to form different colours,
Even to the colour of flowers,
We can express our feelings through colours!
We feel happier than having super powers!
I love colours,
Do you?

My own story

Hello! I am back and I have surprise for you...... I have written my very OWN story. I  hope you like it!

——————————————————————————————————

"Jane, have you told anyone about our secret?" Sarah questioned. "No, I haven't! Why are you asking?" Jane asked doubtfully and curiously. "I think someone eavesdropped into our secret...... I am very worried, remember we have promised the fairies we will not reveal it to anyone! cried Sarah. "I think you misunderstood, someone might be just trying to find out our secret, so don't even mouth a word about our secret!" whispered Jane. Then both of them entered the dance studio. Their teacher was giving an introduction on how to dance ballet. It was very interesting and included many values that one should follow.( ex- patience)Both of them were very graceful and swayed to the music gently. Their teacher praised them for dancing beautifully."Ding donggggggg!" There went the school bell. It was recess time. Sarah and Jane thanked their teacher and rushed  down the stairs to their secret place for which they were not allowed to go. To escape without being caught they had usually sneaked out of the school through the side gate, where there was no security guards. They did this for a month. The fairies had always wanted to meet both of them as their enemies, the weird-looking "zingles"  always attacked the fairies. Only human beings  could save the fairies. Upon being touched 10 times of a human being, a zingle died. By that time, the two girls had killed 16 zingles but there were still 44 more zingles. Everyday the two girls and the fairies had to come up with a plan to kill the zingles as the zingles were causing lots of trouble. Each fairy had a special power. For example, there was a plant fairy that ensures the survival of every plant species. The problem was that the zingles stole the special powers of the fairies and so, the earth was facing lots of trouble. Every time,  the girls killed a zingle a special power of the fairies was retrieved, but none of the people on earth knew about the secret. Once someone on earth knew about the secret, the two children cannot kill  the zingles anymore. There was a major problem that the girls did not realize - there was a hidden camera at the place the secret plans and conversations were made. The owner of the camera is the king zingle. The zingles  also had a plan-  the king of the zingles, only, can disguise himself into a human being. Then, he can go and spread the secret to the human beings and so that nobody can kill them, but they could not execute their plan so far as the conversation was too soft. Their other problem was that they could not reproduce more zingles or find a way to make more zingles. The two children always had an enemy in school, Lucy. Both of them did not like Lucy as she was very mean to others. One day, Lucy followed them during recess. As the two girls were very alert, they changed their direction and headed to the general office and pretended to be waiting there. Realizing this, Lucy thought that both of them had no secrets. So she ran away. She did this repeatedly for two weeks.  Then she gat very tired. So, she stopped following them. Once  Sarah and Jane knew this, they continued to help the fairies but held their conversation at a different place as they thought Lucy might find out the old one. Through this, Lucy  had helped them unknowingly as the zingles could not find the secret place anymore and so the plan of the zingles did not work. So the zingles started to work on another plan. While the zingles were planning, Jane and Sarah killed the zingles one by one slowly. It was very hard for them as the zingles were alert. Soon the population of zingles decreased and earth got most of its features back. Then, there were only about 5 more zingles left. Unfortunately at this very happy moment, the zingles learnt how to invent more zingles by the use of plastics. But the two girls knew about their plan. So the girls started a campaign " recycle plastics". Many people ignored it and kept on using plastics. That killed Mother Earth and also caused the population of the zingles to increase.  The fairies had only one way and that was to stop helping humans make the plastics as the humans could only make plastics with the help of humans. This caused a great problem to the human beings and so the humans started to adapt themselves to use other materials except plastics. This caused a problem to the zingles too"........ The zingles could not invent any more zingles. So all the zingles tried to steal the special powers of the fairies but this time most of the fairies escaped. As usual, Sarah and Jane went to their secret place without noticing Lucy following them. Once Lucy saw the fairies she yelled with delight. Upon hearing the familiar voice, Jane and Sarah turned behind and with great shock they stood there like statues. All the fairies went to their hiding places. Luckily Lucy did not know about the zingles or else the two girls cannot execute their plan. Lucy asked the girls a thousand questions but both of them hid their secret. Then Lucy threatened them that she will tell their teacher about them going out of school. The two girls ran quickly to school and accidentally, went o the front gate. There, their teacher was looking for them and punished them severely after hearing the truth from Lucy who chased after them. Both Sarah and Jane had a black mark in each of their report books, punished by their parents and missed their chance in becoming prefects but both of them did not reveal their secrets. Then, it was not easy for them to escape from school as Lucy followed them daily. So, both of them lied to their parents that they had stay backs 4 times a week. So, everyday after school they went to their secret place after they had told their teacher that they were going home. Day by day they killed many zingles. Soon they had defeated all the zingles in a few days! There were no more zingles in the world! The fairies were so grateful  that they gave them many presents and continued to help man make plastics as many people could not earn a living as they had no more plastic products. When both of them went home they hid their presents in their rooms. But, their parents had found out the truth. Both of them were not scared as they told the truth. They did not have to lie to anyone anymore. Their parents were proud of them as they have saved Mother Earth! When their teacher knew about it, she quickly took the black mark out of their report books and gave the chance for them to become prefects. Lucy reflected about her bad actions and apologized profusely to the both of them. Then the three of them became best friends forever and continued to work on their campaign " Recycle Plastics" .However we should not take the help of the fairies for granted or ignore  the campaign. We should recycle plastics as we only have to throw our plastics in the recycle bin which is placed beside our houses.

Life

Mile by Mile, it's a trial,
but inch by inch, it's a cinch.
No one can persuade another to change.
Each of us guards a gate of change that can be opened from the inside.

P5 camp

Whenever I see a p5 girl in my school, I remember  about this camp. "Yes!" I answered my mother as she was checking if I had all the items for the camp.
It was an early morning, about 5 am. I woke up as the sun greeted me with the bright and cheerful shades of yellow. "What a good start for a 3-day 2-night camp!" I thought brushing my teeth."Hurry! You have to catch the public bus on the dot,so that we can reach your school!"alerted my father, concerned.Usually, I take my school bus but that day was special as my father would drop me in school. I re-checked if I had all the items with the help of my mother. My mother will usually lend me a hand when in trouble times.
Once, I had all my items,I was back to my school uniform after 2 days of holidays. I wore my sparkling white shoes and my socks. I took big footsteps, pulling my camping bag. I missed my mother, and said good-bye in a high-tone. My mother gave me the warmest hug,I ever had in my 10 years of life. My father followed me as I reached the elevator. Luckily, we reached the bus-stop at the correct time. We took the public bus,to reach our destination, the school. We alighted after many bus-stops. We walked to my school." Yes! We made it!" I yelled in excitement, seeing my friends." Miss you father!" I told him with a broken heart, missing my family. I made a last glance at my father, as my friends pulled me away to me to the venue we had to reach. Drops of tears rolled down my cheeks, missing my family. I wiped the tears out of my face, and tried to be cheerful as I could, looking at the sun. Holding our hands together, my partner and I walked up the stairs of the bus, which lead us to the campsite. The campsite was at Labrador Moe  Park.
We sat according to the groups, we had been assigned to. There were seven groups. All the groups including mine went to our domes. We kept our bags gently on the floor and started arranging our beds, before we laid down our sleeping bags. Then we took our day packs(small bags ) and marched, to the beat of our I incomplete cheer,to the canteen. We laid our cutlery in a neat manner and yelled

the eating cheer. After that, we were being served with food. I adapted to the food slowly as there was a big change from the food being cooked by my mother. Then we washed our own cutlery. We followed our instructors, to the respective places. My group, group 4 combined with group 3 to Pandang river, to do our kayaking. My partner and I listening carefully to the instructions on how to
control  our kayak with our paddles. Both of us were  seated comfortably on the kayak wearing our life jackets  and holding firmly to hold our paddles. 'Whee!' I screamed, joyfully  as we made our way to the middle of the river, guided by our kayak  coach. We had lots of fun paddling our kayaks on the river.
We were completely drenched in water, when we ended our session. We carried the heavy kayaks back to their places  before we had a quick shower. We reached the campsite. Then we went back to our domes to ready ourselves for lunch.
After our heavy lunch,we walked to the venue. Many groups were assembled there. We listened to our instructor and our chiefs. They wanted us to go through a tough challenge. The challenge was to guess a number in a big box, holding 25 mini boxes. When the number being guessed was opened, and sometimes we could retrieve a key. The challenge was for each group to get 2 keys! The tricky part was that  most of the boxes did not have a key and to get a chance for guessing we had to finish a game as a group by the given time. When we won the game we got 50 points and if we lose we got 10 points. There were many games. The happy news was that we were the  second group to get the two keys. When all of the teams finished the challenge, it was 10:15 pm. We went to brush our teeth, followed by going to bed at 10:30 pm and all of us woke up at 7 am , which was the appointed time. We went to take our morning bath. The water was freezing cold. Then we assembled in our domes. My team wanted to gain more points as when we sang our cheer to one of the chiefs and they if the chief was satisfied, we could earn a HUNDRED points! We sang to the chiefs our cheer and earned a hundred points!
That day,we had a switch of games. Those who did the zip line and the high elements went to kayak. Those who did cooking went to kayak. My team and group 3 went to do the zip line and high elements. My team did the zip line first. I went for zip line second. The zip line was mind blowing. The zip line is also known as the flying fox. I felt as if gloating  in the sky when I did the zip line. It was big, long and VERY FAST! I wanted to go on it a ZILLION times! You should definitely try it.
Next, we went to do the obstacle course. It looked simple but it was VERY HARD! Some people cried their lungs out! When I tried it, panic seized me and panic robbed my lungs leaving  very little amount of oxygen. I forced myself not to cry as I saw my partner drenched with tears. She did not want to experience it, but she had no choice. When all of us finished it, she was the happiest among us. It was a terrifying  experience. At that very moment, I understood the meaning of the phrase," Do not judge the book by its cover". Well, I managed to complete the obstacle without getting stuck or crying. Luckily we were attached to cables or else we would have fell on the floor with great  force, instead of getting stuck in between ropes. My teachers and instructors helped us a lot. It was quite scary. Then, we went to the fun part. We had to find sweet potatoes which were dug out for us. I found an orange-coloured sweet potato. We washed our sweet potatoes sparkling clean. We were also given 2 choices. The choices were to barbeque  or boil them. I chose to barbeque my sweet potato as I had never tasted one. That activity thought us patience, as we had to wait for the sweet potatoes to be fully cooked. Among  all  the barbecqued sweet potatoes, min was the last to be fully cooked as mine was very fat, but it ended up sweet, tasty and juicy.
All the teams finished all the activities. By the  second day including my team too! The moment all of us were waiting for had come. It was campfire time! Some of our school teachers and our principal came there, that night to watch the campfire. Many parents came there too. The campfire was filled with group performances. All the groups performed their cheers, sang songs and dances we had prepared. At the end  all of us were dog-tired as beads of perspiration rolled down our cheeks. We had our supper and went to bed as we had our dinner before the campfire.
All of us woke up as the clock ticked 7 am. We had our bath. Then all of our groups were given a specific  place to clean. Our team was to clean one of the toilets. All of us were disgusted at the moment. But we only had to clean the toilet for 10 minutes. All we did was scrubbing the floor with our shoes as there were no items to help as clean. We collected the things which were left behind by others. We earned a hundred points for that. Then we did our reflection  in a booklet which was provided. Then the instructors announced the points.  My team came in second as we missed the first place by 20 points, but I remained happy as I learnt  and adapted to many  new things. I thanked my instructors for giving us such a lovely and memorable camp. Then, we took a bus back to school as the camp came to an end. We chattered happily about our experiences in the camp. The camp was etched in my mind ever since then.
                                                                   Thank you!
                                                                                                                                                 - Ishvaryaa
